Instead of fighting things that separate me from my creative endeavors this year I am trying to embrace them. I am sure I am not this first mother-wife-woman who finds the needs of family and work clogging the creative arteries. I’ve been reading the book Simple Abundance by Sarah Brethnach what a wonderful daily breath. It’s a book to follow through the year, that deals with being grateful. I’ve also picked up The Artist Way by Julia Cameron. Now I’ve tried to follow this book before without being able to stick to it. But I am going to give it another shot. I heard an interview with her on The Doctor Oz show on XM radio. I am hopeful that I’ll be able to get my creative flow back in the groove. So I am making a plan to fit small bits of time into my day for creativity.

I’ve got some great show ideas. Types of hooks, how do you design patterns, getting the most out of a hook in… I would love to hear who you would like me to interview. cheers Carrie.

Snow and Ice

Five inches of snow fell this morning followed by rain all leading to a two hour school delay. I haven’t gotten back to cleaning the studio, maybe tonight. Here’s a little mat I did a few years ago for my anniversary with Jon. It’s 18″ x 12″. This is a 6 cut. All but the background was a sick orange wall cloth before I dyed it.

Hello! A cold clear day here in New Hampshire, USA. Wednesday is our light homeschooling day due to Power skating, and Music classes. So today I’ve taken the opportunity to start cleaning the studio and learn to blog. I’ve set my first podcast date as January 27th. Now I just have to come up with a name. Cheers Carrie– oh the title photo is a shot down my street this morning.

This is my rug called the pearl. It was completed in 2006 right after son #3 was born. It took my a lot longer than I wanted as I had muscle problems in my hand due to pregnancy. It’s 36″ square give or take a few.
